At the time of writing this piece, I was confronted with two strikingly different scenarios. One, involved friends in the UK posting images of their vaccine cards on social media (and I am proud of them for taking the first step in making themselves and the world a safer place).

With mounting evidence of disproportionate Covid-19 mortality among ethnic minority groups, in April 2020 Public Health England undertook a review of ethnic inequalities in relation to this evidence.
The disproportionate impacts of Covid-19 on Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) people in the UK (both within and outwith the medical professions) have sparked critical commentary, an evidence submission, and an official inquiry (headed by a ‘controversial’ figure largely discredited in antiracist, trade union and equality third sector circles).
In April 2020, NHS England and Public Health England launched an inquiry into the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on Black Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities.
